It’s only been a matter of months since Coco Jeary started Caterpillar Preschool Ltd in Burke Mountain, Coquitlam. Business is going well. She’s well on track to exceed her first year’s projections. But that’s not her favourite thing about opening her own Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool for three and four year olds.
“I love it because every day I know that there will be kids coming!” explains Coco. “Kids are using their imagination, thinking outside the box, coming up with ideas and working together. They always leave with big smiles. That’s the most important thing for all of us.”
Helping Coco on her way was a loan of $35,000 from Vancity small-business specialist Brenna Wheatley.
“Brenna was really helpful,” continues Coco. “She led me step by step through the process and was always really quick to respond to any questions.”
